11 areas of North Staffordshire and South Cheshire with more than three new Covid-19 cases last week



Eleven areas of Stoke-on-Trent and surrounding areas of Staffordshire and Cheshire confirmed more than three new Covid-19 cases last week – new figures show.

The latest figures show four areas of Stoke-on-Trent, three areas of Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough, one in the Staffordshire Moorlands, one in Stafford Borough and two in South Cheshire had more than three cases of coronavirus confirmed between Monday August 24 and Sunday August 30.

The data divides the country into ‘middle super output areas’ (MSOA), which have similar populations of around 7,200 people.

Although other MSOAs will have had cases only areas with three or more confirmed Covid-19 cases between those dates are highlighted.

This is down from 12 areas with more than three cases in yesterday’s update.

Areas with more than three new cases of Covid-19 confirmed between Monday August 24 and Sunday August 30:

Stoke-on-Trent:

Florence (including Normacot and areas of Dresden): 12

Longport and Burslem Park: 4

Meir South and Lightwood: 4

Hollybush and Blurton North: 3

Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough:

Silverdale and Keele: 7

Newcastle West and Cross Heath (including areas of Knutton): 5

Westlands and Seabridge: 3

Staffordshire Moorlands:

Biddulph Moor and Rudyard: 3

Stafford Borough:

Littleworth and Hopton: 3

South Cheshire:

Alsager East: 4

Wistaston Green: 3
