Tony Mowbray is wary of Stoke City’s intensity ahead of tonight’s clash here at Ewood Park.
Not least, perhaps, after wins last night for Huddersfield and Luton.
“Stoke are obviously fighting for their lives towards the bottom of the table,” says Mowbray, “and they have an experienced manager and some very talented individuals that are allowing them to win football matches.
“They’ve got a lot of players who’ve played in the Premier League and when you look at their results, they scored five at Huddersfield and four at Barnsley.
“They also beat Charlton 3-1 and won 2-0 against Cardiff at the weekend.
“And they’ve had some adverse results as well, conceding four at QPR and four at Derby County, which has put them right back in the mix.
“They’ll have a real intensity and desire to get results and drag themselves away from that bottom three and we have to show the same desire and thirst to try and keep our points tally ticking along and apply real pressure to the teams in and around the top six.”
Stoke have won on their last three visits to Ewood Park and will hope a fourth will be complemented by favourable results elsewhere against the likes of Wigan, Barnsley and Hull.
