An organisation which works to improve and promote the city centre has signed up as an event sponsor for the StokeonTrentLive Business Awards 2021.
The Stoke-on-Trent City Centre Business Improvement District (BID) is a not-for-profit organisation formed to deliver improvements to the city centre through additional services, initiatives and events.
The group was launched in 2018 and today represents more than 400 Stoke-on-Trent businesses and organisations in an area spanning 75 streets.
The Stoke-on-Trent City Centre BID is the latest organisation to pledge its support the this year’s awards which aim to shine a spotlight on the best in the industry.
There are 13 separate categories up for grabs including Science and Technology, Innovation in Business and Growth.
Paul Williams, Stoke-on-Trent City Centre BID board member and lead director for place marketing, said: “As a visionary and strong business-led partnership seeking to bring about desirable improvements to the city centre and wider region, the BID is delighted to be sponsoring this year’s StokeonTrentLive Business Awards as a demonstration of our investment in, and support for businesses, and to showcase some amazing success stories and the vital contribution our businesses make to the economy.
“Localism and loyalty are rightly seen as key attributes for a strong community and a force for positive change. The awards provide a platform to celebrate the creativity, innovation and resilience shown by all businesses, large and small, during this extraordinary and challenging year.”
Paul added: “The BID’s strengthening partnership with StokeonTrentLive will help us to deliver our vision to promote and support a safe, welcoming and engaging city centre destination for Stoke-on-Trent by working together as ‘one business community’.
“We hope to encourage and support more local businesses to participate in this year’s awards in order to shine a spotlight on the rich seam of talented people, creative enterprises and innovative businesses across the city, and to celebrate their excellence, incredible achievements and successes.”
*To enter the awards, applicants are being directed to the awards’ official website here and fill in the nomination form for the relevant category. The deadline for applications is Tuesday, February 23.
After the closing date, three finalists will be shortlisted within each category by a judging panel. The winners will then be announced at the virtual awards, which take place on Thursday, April 22.
