Another key worker has been left waiting more than a week for their coronavirus test result.
Psychiatric health worker Lynn Norcup went for a test at the bet365 Stadium on Monday, November 16 after her eight-year-old granddaughter tested positive the day before.
The 55-year-old started a period of self-isolation due to previous contact with her granddaughter and was told she would need a negative test result to return to work.
But she was yesterday still waiting for the result.
It mirrors the case of fellow key worker – 23-year-old Heidi Condliffe, from Audley – who was also left waiting more than a week for her Covid-19 result after having a test at the bet365 Stadium.
Lynn, from Meir Heath, said: “I’m disgusted. I’m still in the dark about the result. I rang them on the Wednesday because I thought it was odd and they said they would look into it and it could take five days. Then I rang a day later and they said six days, not five days.
“When I rang again they told me to wait until Sunday, and then questioned why I was self-isolating. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, I told them I’m a key worker.
“I just feel a bit deflated. What if I’ve been positive this whole time? My husband has still been going to work, he’s wondering what if he’s spreading it? My granddaughter hasn’t had any symptoms and neither have we.
“I just don’t think they know what they’re doing.”

The Government advises people who have not had their result within five days to get another test.
A Department for Health and Social Care spokesman said: “NHS Test and Trace is the largest diagnostic network in British history and seven-in-10 people who take an in-person test receive their result the next day.
“The system is processing tests at an unprecedented scale, with the daily testing capacity now surpassing 500,000, and more than two million people who may otherwise have unknowingly spread coronavirus have been contacted and told to isolate by NHS Test and Trace.
“Anyone with coronavirus symptoms can get a free test and must get tested as soon as they develop symptoms.”
