Armed police called after knife-wielding teenagers rob boy, 15, in Stoke-on-Trent



A group of knife-wielding teenagers robbed a boy in Stoke-on-Trent.

Armed police were deployed to Hartshill Road in Hartshill shortly after 4.20pm yesterday to reports a 15-year-old was threatened and robbed.

Officers had to been told a group of teenagers – believed to be armed with knives – took the boy’s phone and a mini motorbike.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “Firearms officers were dispatched to Hartshill Road, Hartshill, at 4.20pm on January 4 following a report a 15-year-old had been threatened and robbed.

“We were informed the boy had been approached by a group of teenagers, with some alleged to have been armed with knives, who took his phone and mini motorbike.

“Following the incident the force was supported by the National Police Air Service while the stolen bike was later recovered.

“A 17-year-old male from the Newcastle area was arrested on suspicion of robbery and is currently in police custody.”
