Armed police descended on a Stoke-on-Trent street after a man was firing an air rifle from his garden.
Officers carrying guns were called to Haslemere Avenue, Milton, this afternoon following reports a man was taking potshots.
It is understood some of the pellets had gone through a neighbouring fence.
Staffordshire Police’s dog unit also attended the incident, which started at 3.40pm today (April 11).
A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of firing an air weapon beyond his premises in breach of the Firearms Act.
The suspect is now being questioned at the Northern Area Custody Facility at Etruria.
No-one was injured during the incident.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “Armed officers attended Haslemere Avenue, Milton, to reports of an adult male in his own garden in possession of an air weapon.
“Officers spoke to the man who is currently under arrest and is now helping police with their inquiries.”
Details of the suspect’s age have not been released at this stage.
In a tweet, Staffordshire Police Response said: “Supporting @StaffsDogs and @Shift2FIM following the deployment of armed officers in Milton. No dangers to the wider public and one male quickly arrested by armed officers.”
