Armed police have seized a hammer and a knife after they were called to a reports of a disturbance in a Stoke-on-Trent street.
Officers were dispatched to Denbigh Street, Hanley, at around 10pm yesterday after receiving calls from members of the public.
Shortly after their arrival the weapons were recovered and a man was arrested on suspicion of affray.
The 44-year-old has since been released with no further action being taken.
Armed officers were also sent to nearby Scotia Road, in Burslem, at a similar time last night following another reported disturbance.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “We were called to a property in Denbigh Street in Stoke-on-Trent shortly after 10pm on Wednesday, April 22, to reports of a disturbance.
“Armed officers attended and seized a hammer and a knife. A 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray but has been released with no further action.”
