A 35-year-old man has been arrested after armed police stormed a Stoke-on-Trent house.
Police carried out the operation, described as ‘pre-planned’, on Sturgess Street, Stoke, last night.
The man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm and remains in custody.
Police remain at the scene as their investigation continues today.
A Staffordshire Police spokeswoman said: “Armed officers carried out a pre-planned operation at an address on Sturgess Street last night (11 June).
“A 35-year-old man from Newcastle-under-Lyme was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and criminal damage.
“He remains in custody and enquiries are on-going at the property this afternoon.”
