The arson investigation into a Stoke-on-Trent house fire is continuing as two men arrested after the blaze have been released on bail.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the fire at a property in Sandon Road, Meir, at around 10.15pm on Sunday night.
On arrival the crews found the occupants of the house outside and set to work extinguishing the blaze. Paramedics assessed one woman who didn’t require hospital treatment.
But following the incident police officers arrested two Stoke-on-Trent men, aged 39 and 34, on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and using violence to gain entry to a property.
The 34-year-old was also taken into custody on suspicion of theft from a dwelling and assault by beating.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman confirmed both men have now been released on bail.
He said: “They have both been released on conditional bail while investigations continue.”
