Arsonists set fire to car parked on road



Police are investigating after arsonists set fire to a car on a South Cheshire street this morning (Friday April 3).

Firefighters were called to Gresty Terrace, Crewe, just after 6am today.

The fire also damaged another vehicle that was parked nearby.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said:  “At around 6.15am firefighters were called to reports of a car being on fire on the roadway in Gresty Terrace, Sydney, Crewe.

“On arrival the crew found the vehicle well alight.

“The fire had also damaged the car parked in front of it.

“Firefighters extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet and were in attendance for around 50 minutes.

“Police also attended.

“The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
