Biker throws helmet at police while trying to flee through Staffordshire streets

A biker removed his helmet and hurled it at a police patrol car during a pursuit through the streets of Staffordshire.

Officers from the Staffordshire Police Dogs and Armed Response Vehicle (ARV) team attempted to stop the biker in Stafford before they tried escaping the patrol earlier this afternoon (April 17).

The rider then took the unusual step to remove their helmet and throw it at the pursuing officers.

But cops eventually managed to stop the man – who has not been identified – following a brief footchase.

A Staffordshire Polic e spokesman: “This motorcycle failed to stop for the ARV in Stafford.

“The rider removed his helmet and threw it at the pursuing police car.

“Thankfully the helmet bounced off the bonnet causing no damage!

“That doesn’t dissuade us however, and after a foot chase he was swiftly detained.”
