Will Jon Walters have his wish and succeed with his one-man (well almost) war against Liverpool winning the Premier League this year?
The former Stoke favourite – and lifelong Everton fan it has to be said! – has been on Twitter urging the Premier League to simply cancel their competition.
And so deprive Liverpool of their first title in three decades at a time when they currently sit on a 25-point lead with only nine games to play.
Walters did his best as a player to make life a misery for Liverpool by scoring seven goals against them in a Stoke shirt – including one in that famous 6-1 win which we still go on about five years later.
And on twitter he started with his own on-line vote and the result left him tweeting:
“There you have it! 11308 random voters and an overwhelming majority of 2/3 have voted to cancel the Premier League. Over to you @premierleague:”
Then he later added: “If the Coronavirus spreads… We should just cancel the Premier League and start afresh next season. What do we all think?”
Then there was: “We can all say Liverpool are champions, no-one’s really bothered. Liverpool will also be reigning Champions of Europe for another season and whilst we’re at it we can say you’re still undefeated.”
And to console himself, should Liverpool be awarded the title, he posted a photo of an empty open-top Liverpool FC bus travelling down an empty street.
You gotta love the guy.
