Boys, aged 14 and 16, arrested following town centre arson attacks

Two teenage boys have been arrested following two arson attacks in a town centre.

In the last few weeks, firefighters had to be called to to blazes at a derelict building in West Street, Congleton, and at a former care home in Moody Street, also in the town.

Both fires, on May 17 and June 1 respectively, were able to be extinguished and subsequent investigations revealed them to have been started deliberately.

Now Cheshire Police have taken two boys, aged 14 and 16, into custody on suspicion of two counts of arson in relation to the two incidents.
