Busy road closed after accident outside popular South Cheshire college



A busy road outside a popular South Cheshire college has had to close following an accident.

Highways officers were called to the A51 outside Reaseheath College in Nantwich shortly after 7.40am today (December 11).

There are currently no indications of any injuries.

But motorists are being warned to plan their journey around the incident.

A Cheshire East Highways spokesman said: “Road closed at the A51 outside Reaseheath College in Nantwich after we have had a road traffic collision.

“We are currently closing the road.

“Please plan your journey this morning.”

Traffic monitoring company INRIX reports a lorry has left the carriageway.

It reports: A”51 in both directions closed, queueing traffic due to accident, a lorry involved from A534 Cuckoo Lane (Burford Crossroads) to B5074 Barony Road (Reaseheath Roundabout).

“A lorry has gone off the road and ended up in a ditch by Reaseheath College, just north of the town centre. Police have shut the road.”
