Part of a busy Stoke-on-Trent road has been closed while emergency repairs are carried out to the carriageway.
Etruria Road, heading towards Festival Park, has been shut between TGI Fridays and A53 flyover since around 7am this morning following a crash.
The collision has caused an oil spill and so Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s Highways Team is now carrying out repairs.
The road will remain shut while it is resurfaced.
A Stoke-on-Trent City Council spokesman said: “We have shut one side of Etruria Road in Hanley, between TGI Fridays and the Festival Park flyover roundabout, due to a crash and oil spill.
“The road is shut in the direction towards Festival Park but remains open for traffic heading towards the city centre.
“The Highways Team are currently working with their contractors to arrange for the road to be resurfaced.
“We will provide further updates when we have more info and politely request motorists seek alternative routes for the time being. Thank you for your understanding.”
