More than 1,400 people have now died in the UK after testing positive for COVID-19 – according to the latest figures from Public Health England.
A total of 1,408 deaths have now been confirmed in the country with the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus now up up to 22,141 – although as always the actual figure of the number of cases will be far higher.
Staffordshire currently has the 18th highest number of confirmed cases of any local authority in England – with 256. There are also 33 in Stoke-on-Trent and another 61 in Cheshire East.
Restrictions on movement remain in place as the country tackles the pandemic and people should continue to avoid making unnecessary journeys.
