A total of six cases of the novel coronavirus – COVID-19 – have been confirmed in Staffordshire as the world continues to deal with the pandemic.
Yesterday – Sunday March 15 – the Department of Health said a total of 1,372 people have tested positive for the virus in the UK as of 9am that morning.
One case has been confirmed in Cheshire East and there are currently no confirmed cases in Stoke-on-Trent.
Due to patient confidentiality, more precise information on the locations of confirmed cases is not being disclosed.
A total of 35 deaths of people who had tested positive for COVID-19 have now been confirmed in the UK.
At least 19 people are understood to have recovered from the coronavirus – this figure is likely to be higher but since data on recoveries is not published as part of the government’s daily updates there is no way to provide an accurate number.

Internationally there have now been more than 169,400 cases of COVID-19, including 6,571 deaths and more than 76,600 recoveries.
