Coroner names Stoke-on-Trent man, 58, found dead after paramedics called to ‘medical emergency’



An inquest has been opened and adjourned into the death of a 58-year-old man found dead at his Stoke-on-Trent home.

Marek Stafanciki was discovered at the property on Pinfold Avenue, in Norton, on December 8.

North Staffordshire senior coroner Andrew Barkley said Mr Stafanciki had been found ‘hanged’ at the address.

He said: “On Pinfold Avenue, in Norton, on December 8, he was found hanged at the address and confirmed to be deceased.

“An inquest is necessary and the family have been informed.

“The inquest has been opened and will resume on March 18 at 10am.”

Paramedics attended the scene and it ‘quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save him’.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a medical emergency at a property on Pinfold Avenue at 11.21am on December 8.

“We sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene and discovered one patient. Sadly it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
