An inquest has been opened into the death of a 65-year-old woman.
Linda Lowe was pronounced dead by paramedics after being found ‘unresponsive’ in a recliner in her living room.
Emergency services were called to the property on Moss Park Avenue, in Werrington, on November 20.
North Staffordshire assistant coroner Sarah Murphy said: “The family had tried to contact Linda Lowe by phone the previous day.
“They went to the address and entered the property. They discovered her unresponsive in the recliner in her living room. Paramedics attended and very sadly confirmed that she had died.
“There is reason to suspect the death was unnatural and an inquest will be neccessary. The family will be given a progress update in six weeks time and an inquest date will be set administratively.
“The body has been released for funeral purposes.”
West Midlands Ambulance Service had been called to reports of a woman in cardiac arrest.
A spokesman said: “Sadly, when the ambulance arrived, it was clear nothing could be done to save the woman and she was confirmed dead at the scene.”
