Council removes wheelbarrow from bear planter after it is vandalised by yobs

A council has removed a wheelbarrow decoration from a floral bear display after it was vandalised by yobs.

The plant bears stand on the Mountbatten Way roundabout in Congleton to pay tribute to the town’s history.

But Congleton Town Council has today (November 13) confirmed the wheelbarrow had to be removed after it was vandalised by yobs.

The authority says it appears the wheelbarrow cannot be repaired.

A spokesman said: “Unfortunately the wheelbarrow which was made by a group of Congleton residents has been vandalised.

“The wheel barrow has now been removed from site but it is looking like it is not repairable which is such a shame as it was a brilliant addition to the bears on the roundabout.

“If anyone has any details please get in contact with Congleton Town Council.”
