A keyworker on the Covid front-line has made an impassioned plea for people to ‘follow the rules’ and ‘stay at home’ in Tier 4 Stoke-on-Trent.
Chris Dulson made the social media appeal after being dismayed by the number of cars on the roads and the amount of children wandering the streets as he was at work on New Year’s Day.
It comes as Stoke-on-Trent was plunged into Tier 4 on New Year’s Eve amid a sharp rise in Midlands cases.
Tier 4 rules mean no-one can leave their home without a ‘reasonable excuse’. This can include work, education and exercise.
Chris said: “We are in Tier 4. This is serious stuff. We will never beat this as long as people do not wake up and smell the bacon.
“Please, please, please stay at home. We need to be staying at home. I know it is boring and the TV is pants but it is better than watching friends and families dying.
“So please, please, please follow the rules. I have seen what this virus can do and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Please stay at home and keep your kids at home. Please stay safe. Please feel free to share this post to raise awareness.”
