Covid infections still falling in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire



Covid-19 infections are still falling across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.

Stoke-on-Trent has a weekly case rate of 325.3 per 100,000 people after 834 infections were confirmed in the city over the seven days up to December 6.

This compares to a rate of 355.7 cases per 100,000 over the previous week, and is the 14th highest rate in England.

In Newcastle the rate has fallen from 237.2 to 198.5 over the same period, while in the Staffordshire Moorlands it has gone from 204.2 to 193.

In Stafford the weekly rate has dropped from 217.8 to 181.4, while in Cheshire East it has fallen from 121.6 to 101.

Swale in Kent continues to have the highest rate in England: 625.0 cases per 100,000 people.
