Cyclist, 36, injured in hit-and-run crash with car



A cyclist was  taken to hospital after being injured in a hit-and-run crash with a car.

The 36-year-old was knocked off his bike on the A449, near to the roundabout for junction 13 of the M6, between Stafford and Penkridge at 7.30pm on Sunday (June 14).

The driver of the car – believed to be grey or silver – left the scene without stopping to check on the cyclist.

The extent of the man’s injuries are not yet known.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw a grey or silver car in the area, is asked to call Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 773 of June 14.
