An inquest has been opened into the sudden death of a man at his home.
James Sproson, aged 42, was found in his garage in George Street, Fenton, on July 28.
Opening and adjourning an inquest into the father-of-two’s death, senior coroner Andrew Barkley said: “It was sadly the case that Mr Sproson was confirmed deceased at the scene.
“That being the case, there is the requirement for an inquest into his death.”
West Midlands Ambulance Service said paramedics were called to the incident, but Mr Sproson could not be saved.
A spokesman said: “We were called by police at 2.41pm on the July 28 to reports of a medical emergency at an address in George Street, Fenton.
“One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene. On arrival, crews found one patient, a man.
“Sadly, nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
A full inquest into Mr Sproson’s death will be held on a date to be fixed.
