The grieving mother of a 29-year-old woman who died from stab wounds has set up a fund-raising appeal in her daughter’s memory.
Vicki Deakin has set up the latest online appeal following the death of mum-of-one Kimberley Deakin.
She was pronounced dead on Friday, November 6 after emergency crews had been called to her home in Leigh Street, Burslem.
Now this fund-raising appeal will go towards giving Kimberley the ‘best send-off she deserves’. It has a £5,000 target and has already surpassed £1,000.
Vicki’s appeal states: “As you all may know, our beloved daughter passed away on November 6. We are looking to raise money for her funeral to give her the best send-off she deserves. We thank you for all your well wishes and support at this devastating time.”
A separate online appeal – set up by Kimberley’s friends – has also already raised more than £1,000.
The appeal comes as a 29-year-old man is due to appear at Stafford Crown Court this morning charged with murdering Kimberley. He was arrested last Friday, charged with murder over the weekend, and appeared at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Monday.
