Do you have one of these surnames? Then you may be entitled to claim inheritance

A number of people living in Staffordshire could be entitled to an inheritance – and not even know about it.

There are a total of 49 inheritences unclaimed in the county – so if you have one of these surnames you could be in for some money.

The Treasury Solicitor publishes a list of ‘estates’ – property, goods and money – which have been left behind by people who did not make a will, and which are yet to be claimed.

These estates could be worth hundreds of thousands of pounds or could be worth very little, reports Nottinghamshire Live.

However, there is a catch as you only have a limited amount of time to apply for what could be yours.

People can apply up to 12 years after a person’s death with interest on the money, or 30 years without interest on the money.

In Staffordshire there are people with 49 different surnames who have left behind unclaimed estates.
