A drug-driver is now in custody after he was caught speeding in front of an unmarked police car.
He was stopped by the Staffordshire Police Road Policing Unit (RPU) after they spotted him speeding at 60mph in a 40mph zone in Staffordshire this afternoon (June 11).
He then tested positive for cannabis.
Officers took to social media to reveal he was now in custody.
A spokesman said: “This driver thought he could get away with speeding at 60mph in a 40mph zone in the Staffordshire area.
“Unfortunately we were behind him in a unmarked car and stopped him, where they then provided a positive drug wipe for cannabis, now off to custody.”
RPU also stopped a driver whose number plate didn’t conform to the correct regulations.
A spokesman said: “This vehicle drew attention to us in the Staffordshire area, as the driver decided to rearrange his number plate to suit his own purpose, which didn’t conform to the correct regulations.
“TOR issued and will now have to get some new correct plates made up.”
