Driver in ‘very nice’ stolen car tried to escape cops after being spotted in Stoke-on-Trent



The driver of a ‘very nice’ stolen car tried to escape police officers after being spotted in Stoke-on-Trent.

The Staffs Police Road Policing Unit (RPU) spotted the vehicle in the Stoke town area shortly before 9.30pm last night (August 18).

Officers say it was spotted by a PCSO after it was pinched in Cheshire.

After managing to escape the PCSOs the car was recovered by the RPU and Central Motorway Policing Group (CMPG).

A Staffs Police RPU spokesman said: “Very nice car stolen from Cheshire in the early hours of this morning. It was being used in the Stoke area this afternoon and spotted by a Local PCSO.

“Evaded them as ourselves and CMPG made [our way] the area.
