Driver who stopped at chip shop hit with £100 penalty after parking on zig zags


A driver has been hit with a £100 penalty and three points on his licence – after stopping at a chip shop.

The motorist pulled up outside Weston Road Fish Bar on Weston Road, Stafford, earlier today.

Police said there were spaces a short walk away.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said:  “Another driver caught stopping on the Zig zags by Weston Road chippy. His five minute trip to the shop has cost him £100 extra and three points.

“There were plenty of free spaces 30 seconds walk away.  Please park legally and sensibly. The zigzags are there to protect pedestrians.”
