Easter eggs already for sale at The Range in Stoke-on-Trent ahead of Christmas

Chocolate Easter eggs have already been spotted on the shelves of a Stoke-on-Trent shop and we haven’t even celebrated Christmas yet.

The Range, in Fenton, is already stocking their shelves with Easter Eggs two days before Christmas Day.

Pictures reveal that the home, leisure and garden retailer is already selling the chocolate treats even though Easter is more than four months away (April 4).

Lindt Lindor Easter Eggs are on sale for £7.99 and you can grab a Large Rolo Easter Egg, Large Yorkie Easter Egg or a Large Munchies Easter Egg for £3.49.

Customers were shocked to see the Easter treats in the store yesterday (January 23).

Katie Gidman, aged 32, from Fenton said: “I’m shocked. We’ve not even had Christmas yet, it’s very strange.

“They seem to sell them earlier and earlier every year. I noticed Home Bargains and B&M started selling their Christmas stuff before they had even got their Halloween stuff out this year.

“I won’t be buying my Easter Eggs yet, I usually get mine three or four weeks before. Chocolate can go off quick as it turns white in the fridge.

“And if I bought my eggs early they wouldn’t last until Easter because my kids would nick them.

“We’ve got another four months until Easter. Maybe people are thinking we are heading for another lockdown and they need to get their Easter Eggs now.

“I just think it’s ludicrous.”

Chris Jenksinon says she was able to buy a Cadbury Creme Egg from The Range two weeks ago.

The 63-year-old, from Meir, said: “I like Cadbury Creme Eggs and I was able to buy a couple of them from here about two weeks ago. They have been selling them for a while.

“But people are still getting through Christmas, Easter eggs are the last thing people are thinking about at Christmas time.

“Unless it is a bit like people putting their Christmas tress up early this year, perhaps they are just trying to look forward to Easter.”
