Emergency services called to builders’ merchants in Stoke-on-Trent



Emergency services were called to a builders’ merchants in Stoke-on-Trent this evening.

Two fire engines and a police car were seen outside Jewson Builders’ Merchants on Westport Road, Burslem, at around 7.10pm.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that they were mobilised to the area, but it was a false a alarm.

A spokeswoman said: “We were mobilised to Jewson. When the crew got there, they couldn’t find anything.

“It was a false alarm with good intent.”
