Investigators have still not been able to establish what caused a fire which ripped through a house and threatened to spread to neighbouring properties.
Emergency services descended on Keeling Street, in Wolstanton, after the alarm was raised.
The blaze broke out at 8.20am on Saturday, May 30. The door and windows at the front of the property have been boarded up.
Eye-witness Adam Newton said: “When I drove past the whole street was taped off by the police and there were three police cars at the scene.
“What looked like a mattress appeared to have been thrown through a window as it was on the pavement.”

A police spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a house fire at a property. We aided colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service who extinguished the fire and made the area safe by ensuring the fire hadn’t spread to neighbouring properties. An investigation is underway.”
A fire service spokesman said: “An investigation is taking place.
