FA announce Brexit plan that will affect Stoke City’s transfer business

The FA have announced a post-Brexit plan for the transfer of overseas players which will come into effect after December 31, meaning they will be in operation for the January transfer window.

The plan means that Premier League and EFL clubs, including Stoke City will not be able to sign players freely from the EU, meaning that should Stoke want to sign players, they will be required to gain a GBE (Governing Body Endorsement) for them to be able to work in the UK.

This could therefore have a profound effect on transfer decisions that the Potters make as they look to strengthen their squad in the January window ahead of the second half of the season.
