The FA has this afternoon confirmed that steps five and six in the football pyramid will not complete the 2019/20 season.
Non-league football was suspended earlier this month due to the coronavirus and while how to resume and reschedule matches is still being debated at the top of the game, there will be no further play in the ninth and 10th tiers.
That is the North West Counties League, affecting Congleton Town and Hanley Town, who have been fighting relegation; and Abbey Hulton United, Alsager Town, Ecceshall, Sandbach and promotion-chasing Stone Old Alleynians.
In the Midland leagues, it also affects Brocton, Stafford Town, Rocester and Uttoxter Town.
The FA League committee are yet to conclude how promotion and relegation will be decided or whether the leagues will be declared null and void.
According to recent reports, there is currently a 50-50 split over which is the best decision to make regarding the conclusion of the campaign.
A new division is being formed in the North West Counties League this summer, which had already affected how promotion and relegation would take shape due to restructuring.
