Trainer Willie Mullins suffered a triple blow on Friday when he had to rule Saldier, Douvan and Klassical Dream out of next month’s Cheltenham Festival.

Klassical Dream, the 2019 Supreme Novices’ Hurdle winner, missed last weekend’s Irish Champion Hurdle with a leg infection which has proved more serious than first thought and he will not run again this season.

Douvan, who returned from a 569-day absence to win the Clonmel Oil Chase, had been aimed at the Queen Mother Champion Chase.

Saldier was as short as 9-2 for the Champion Hurdle but he had not run since an impressive win in the Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown in November.
