Firefighters and animal rescuers called after horse stuck in Staffordshire ditch



Firefighters have helped rescue a horse that became trapped in a Staffordshire ditch.

Crews from Burton and Cannock were called to a farm after the animal was stuck earlier today (November 22).

They were assisted by specialist animal rescuers.

The horse was then handed into the care of the vet.

A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Burton Green Watch were supported by specialist animal rescue teams from Cannock and Leek this morning when a horse was fast in a ditch.

“Utilising slings, a farmer and his tractor the horse was pulled to safety.

“A vet sedated the horse on scene but is back eating grass again.”
