Firefighters called to flooding on busy North Staffordshire road

The emergency services were called after water was sent gushing across a North Staffordshire road.

Traffic was blocked up around Uttoxeter Road in Draycott shortly after 1.30pm today (December 18).

Pictures from the scene show firefighters trying to clear the road so traffic could flow freely through the area.

One eyewitness said: “It looks as though the main has burst or overloaded near the Draycott Arms pub.

“The road was passable with caution and emergency services were working in the road.”

StokeonTrentLive has approached Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and Severn Trent Water for a comment.
