Firefighters called to ‘out of control’ bonfire in North Staffordshire

Firefighters have been called to an out of control bonfire in North Staffordshire.

Crews from Leek, Biddulph and Cheadle have been called to an address in Meerbrook at around 3pm today (June 2).

On arrival they discovered the fire was a bonfire in the garden.

A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews from Leek, Biddulph & Cheadle are currently working to extinguish an out of control bonfire at an address in Meerbrook area.

“Please think twice before having a garden bonfire and burning rubbish – especially during this warm weather – they can easily become unmanageable.”
