Firefighters deal with ‘large’ blaze at Stoke-on-Trent park



Firefighters have dealt with a ‘large’ blaze at a Stoke-on-Trent park.

Four crews from Hanley and Longton were dispatched to Parkhall Country Park following a call from a member of the public at around 9.18pm this evening.

The crews spent around an hour at the scene and advised the public to avoid the area while the fire was being extinguished.

A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 9.18pm to reports of a large grass fire at Parkhall Country Park.

“Four pumps were in attendance from Hanley and Longton. Members of the public were advised to avoid the area while the incident was dealt with.

“Crews were on scene for around an hour.”
