Firefighters spend more than an hour tackling lorry fire at Michelin factory



Firefighters spent more than an hour tackling a lorry fire at a Stoke-on-Trent tyre factory.

Fire crews from Longton and Newcastle were called to the blaze at Michelin’s Stoke factory, on Campbell Road, at around 6pm yesterday.

The fire was extinguished at around 7.45pm.

A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were called just after 6pm to reports of a lorry fire at Michelin Tyre.

“Crews from Longton and Newcastle attended and tackled the blaze and left the scene around 7.45pm.”
