Firefighters tackle huge blaze as 400 tonnes of waste catches fire at Staffordshire farm



Firefighters have released shocking footage that shows the aftermath of a fire that spread to 400 tonnes of waste at a Staffordshire farm.

Crews from Brewood and Cannock were called to the Shutt Green Lane area of Brewood yesterday (May 27) to reports a fire at a farm had spread to a large quiantity of waste.

They have now released footage of crews working on the scene, using hose reel jets to extinguish the last bits of the inferno.

A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters used hose reel jets to extinguish this fire which had taken hold in 400 tonnes of farm waste on Shutt Green Lane in Brewood yesterday evening.

“Great work from crews at Brewood and Cannock in making the area safe.”
