Five covidiots have been fined for ‘travelling a distance’ through the streets of North Staffordshire.
Police officers spotted the vehicle in Wereton Road in Audley earlier tonight (January 15).
They then discovered the five occupants were all from different households.
Under the current coronavirus lockdown rules families are ordered to stay at home with mixing between households indoors banned unless part of a support bubble.
Anyone breaching the coronavirus rules can be handed out a fixed penality notice for £200 on the first occasion.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “While on patrol tonight officers have come across a vehicle which had travelled a distance and had five occupants inside all from different households.
“All occupants were issued with a fine.
“Please stay at home and only travel for essential journeys.”
Yesterday officers revealed they had dispersed a group of youths from Audley Health Centre for allegedly flouting the lockdown rules.
