Five teenagers arrested after police find imitation firearm and drugs in car on A34
Police arrested five youths after stopping a vehicle on the A34 in North Staffordshire.
An imitation firearm and drugs were seized after police stopped the vehicle in Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough on Wednesday evening.
Five teenagers aged between 14 and 18 were arrested.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “Officers conducted an intelligence led vehicle stop on the A34 in Newcastle shortly before 7pm on Wednesday 12 August.
“A number of items, including an imitation firearm and a quantity of drugs, were seized by officers. Five teenagers – aged between 14 and 18 – were arrested on suspicion of the possession of an imitation firearm in a public place and the possession with intent to supply a controlled Class B drug.
“Four have been released under investigation whilst a 17-year-old remains in police custody. An investigation is ongoing.”
