The grieving family of a 41-year-old man who died just days after his mum are still waiting to find out what caused their loved-one’s death.
Wayne Sant was found unresponsive by his dad at their home in Bucknall on January 29.
He was taken to hospital but medics could not save him. His beloved mum Brenda had passed away from kidney failure on January 20, following a battle with cancer.
They had a joint funeral service at St Mary’s Church, in Bucknall.
Now an inquest has been opened and adjourned into Wayne’s death.
North Staffordshire assistant coroner Sarah Murphy said: “Mr Sant was taken to hospital after being found unresponsive by his father in a bedroom. He arrived at the Royal Stoke University Hospital and five cycles of CPR were carried out. Sadly death was verified at 5.30pm.
“There is no cause of death at this stage. A post-mortem examination was requested.
“Due to the fact that the cause of death is unascertained, an inquest is necessary.”
