Group of adults nearly cause crash after throwing block of ice at moving car causing windscreen to smash

A group of three men and woman almost caused a woman to crash her car after they threw a block of ice at her vehicle causing the windscreen to smash.

Sometime between 2.05pm and 2.10pm on Sunday (January 24) a woman was driving along Badger Avenue in Crewe.

Just before she got to the lights at the junction of Broad Street a group of three men and one woman threw a block of ice at her car causing her windscreen to smash and the wing mirror to be knocked off the car.

The group, who have been described as being in their late 20s, made off in the direction of the cemetery.

Now officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.

Inspector Andy Smith said: “The shock of the window smashing nearly caused her to crash her car.

“This was an incredibly dangerous and stupid thing to do and could have caused a serious collision.

“I’d urge anyone who was driving past at the time and captured this on dashcam to contact us so that we can find those responsible.”
