In the meantime, temperatures will begin to climb from today, however the weather will remain unsettled throughout the weekend and early next week.
Deputy chief meteorologist Martin Young, from the Met Office, said: “By the middle of next week we’ll see temperatures across much of England and Wales widely climbing into the mid to high twenties.”
But with the coming of hot weather also brings the possibility of it being followed by thunderstorms, something the Met Office are keeping tabs on.
Martin continued: “We’re keeping a close eye on the possibility of severe thunderstorms developing later next week too, triggered by the warm continental air.”
Wednesday’s forecast shows sunshine all day with highs of 27°C, before the temperature dips slightly to 25°C on Thursday and 24°C on Friday.
Sunshine is predicted throughout Thursday and for much of Friday, but there could be some early clouds in the morning.
