Family and friends of a ‘much-loved’ man whose death triggered a murder investigation are to pay their final respects at his funeral.
But detectives later ditched the case and released the suspect without charge.
They are no longer treating Mark’s death as suspicious and a report is being prepared for North Staffordshire’s coroner.
Now the 56-year-old’s funeral is to be held at Carmountside Crematorium at 9.30am on Monday, March 2.
The bereavement notice states: “A much-loved dad, brother, uncle and cousin who will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all his family and friends.”
West Midlands Ambulance Service called in police after Mark was pronounced dead at his Maud Street home. Paramedics had been called to a ‘medical emergency’ at the property on Sunday, February 2.
Anyone who saw Mark in the hours before his death should call the police on 101, quoting incident number 333 of February 2
