How to watch Stoke City v Bristol City: TV channel, live stream info and kick-off time

Stoke City return to the bet365 Stadium this weekend for their first Championship home game of the season.

Bristol City are the visitors but there are quite a few changes since these two teams met at Ashton Gate back in July. There’s a new manager in the away dug out in Dean Holden while both clubs have brought in five new signings.

We are in the early stages of the 2020/21 campaign and everything is starting to take shape.

When does the match kick-off?

It’s a 2pm kick-off on Sunday, September 20, moved from the Saturday due to Stoke’s Carabao Cup tie taking place on Thursday… because opponents Wolves had only had a game on Monday.

Is it live on TV?

Afraid not. It will not shown on the Sky Sports red button either.

How can I follow it?

Stoke City are offering a streaming service through their website. Match passes for fans in the UK and Ireland are £10 and show the full game live, accompanied by commentary provided by BBC Radio Stoke.

Passes for fans elsewhere in the world are £7. Overseas supporters can also buy a season stream pass for £140 or a monthly stream pass priced at £20.

You can also follow the game as it happens with us at  StokeonTrentLive.

We’ll have all the build up, team news, action and reaction as Michael O’Neill and his players try to get their home campaign off with a bang.

Team news

Michael O’Neill admits he has nine selection dilemmas as he returns focus to the Championship.

Stoke host Bristol City on the back of a goalless draw with Millwall in last weekend’s league curtain raiser and a 1-0 Carabao Cup win at Wolves with a much-changed team on Thursday – and the manager has taken positives from both games.

Steven Fletcher and Jacob Brown have also twice made positive impressions from the bench as they bid for their first starts.

There is also the option of moving to a back four for a game when Stoke are likely to have more possession, certainly than they did at Molineux.

Bristol City have won their opening three games of the season: beating Exeter and Northampton in the Carabao Cup and Coventry in the Championship, all at home.

Assistant manager Keith Downing said: “I think we’ll make tweaks. We’re trying to develop a way of playing but obviously when the opposition comes up against you, you have to have slight tweaks to it. I don’t want to suddenly and we don’t feel that we should change completely and we have to have an identity and a purpose of how we want to play.

“Whoever the opposition in terms of their style and formations, we have to tweak around that. Hopefully, you will see a Bristol City way of playing but obviously when you’re playing up against different types of opposition, you have to alter occasionally.”
