The grieving family of a Stoke City fan found dead in prison are finally set to get answers regarding their loved-one’s death.
The 41-year-old, from Meir, was a serving prisoner at HMP Dovegate, near Uttoxeter, when he died three days before Christmas in 2017. He had been jailed for burglary.
But his inquest has been hit by delays and the coronavirus pandemic has not helped the situation.
Now a four-day inquest is finally set to start on Tuesday, January 12.
StokeonTrentLive has previously reported how initial medical tests had failed to determine how Mr Lovatt – who was known as Murf – had died. He left behind his wife Barbara and son Harry and was laid to rest at St James’ Church, in Longton, seven months after his death.
