A popular store has temporarily closed in the intu Potteries shopping centre due to coronavirus.
Clarks shoe shop has the shutters down and a notice outside reads: “As part of our commitment to the health and safety of our employees, customers and surrounding communities, we have temporarily closed all Clarks owned stores in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
“The impact of the coronavirus outbreak is an ever-evolving situation. Our team will continue to keep pace and closely follow guidance from the World health Organisation and Public health England. We will keep you informed of any new information from Clarks and let you know when we can welcome you back into our stores.
It goes on to say: ‘please take care of yourselves and each other.”
A spokesman for intu potteries, said: “Clarks at intu Potteries has taken the precautionary decision to close its store, until further notice, as part of its response to Coronavirus (COVID-19).
“We continue to liaise closely with them and are in regular contact. For any additional questions please contact Clarks.”
The closure comes after the Nantwich store shut in February after a staff member was tested for the virus.
